You’re not as alone as you thought…

“We are lonesome animals. We spend all our life trying to be less lonesome. One of our ancient methods is to tell a story, begging the listener to say – and to feel – ‘Yes, that’s the way it is, or at least that’s the way I feel it. You’re not as alone as you thought.” - John Steinbeck

Often in classes I introduce a theme or idea, ranging from the highly conceptual (not often) to the easy-to-digest. These themes are inspired by yoga philosophy, my own personal experiences and/or stories I’ve heard, or read. I often read interesting and inspiring books or listen to amazing people share their own stories and knowledge. I’m also surrounded by some of the finest people in the universe who intermittently blow my mind with their words. I find myself enchanted by stories and enthralled by the power of words. Our whole life is made up of stories and these personal stories live within us. Stories from our past animate our bodies and the words of others can sometimes penetrate and transform our narrative.

The intention of this blog is to bring to life the stories and ideas that live within me, it will also serve as a platform for me to expand on the words and themes from my classes. I’ll share with you the books, people, and podcasts that have had an impression on my being. I promise to keep it personal, genuine, laugh-out-loud hilarious. and short enough to satisfy the age of speed reading/scrolling.
